Magazine Analysis (Company Double-Page Spread)

Double-page Spread

  1. Images: Very minimalistic photographs used for the double-page spreads, the Pink background is kept in contrast with her clothing which has still stuck to a Black and White theme. The two images on the left-hand page covers all of the page, but on the left-hand side, the Pink background stops on half of the second page, to reveal a White colour, which I think does work due to the fact that in the writing there are dashes of Pink too.
  2. Fonts: Same two fonts used throughout., the text on the right-hand page is more spread out and weaved through the photograph so it can be read easily.
  3. Colours: Again, the continuous Pink/White and Black theme work in contrast with the writing and it can be easily read due to the fact that the font is dark and the other two colours are fairly light.
  • A kicker is used on the left-hand page on the 'W' to start the word 'We're', which is a very dark Pink, a way of attracting the reader in case all they are looking at are the main images.
  • As the pages go on, (four double page spreads), I think that the consistency is balanced between colours and in conclusion, the photographs link well with what is being said and this is why I think that although she is an DJ and a Model, the way they draw the attention upon the clothes she is wearing gives readers a way of changing their look to match the Indie/Pop vibe she is creating.
