Magazine Analysis (ELLE Contents)

Contents:

  1. Images: Not many images are used on the page in the first image, but on the left-hand side, a few images are used to summarise the issue of this magazine, using a centre image and surrounding the page with other images on a White background. I think this is a way of keeping the reader interested if their eyes tend to wander, the pick of images can attract in a way to keep them appealed to the magazine.
  2. Fonts: They have stuck to the same two or three fonts, like the front cover, in the first photo, there is a lot of text, but doesn't seem to blend together due to the fact that they have sectioned out each one with a bit of colour, and without an image, keeps it straight and to the point, however, I don't think readers would want to read a whole chunk of text without something to look at also.
  3. Layout Structure: Again, the layout structure is quite simple for the first page, each column is filled with text, but on the second image, the photographs placed on the page looks quite jumbled up, but centres with the title 'June' and the images acting as a part of a mindmap.
  4. Colours: Black and White are, again, the two prominent colours, with hint of colours in placed to keep the reader interested before flicking to the next page.
