Magazine Analysis (ASOS Contents)

Contents

  1. Images: They have used a range of images for this contents page, mostly small pictures to illustrate what type of subject the reader will expect to see on a certain page, and another main image of the model on the cover.
  2. Fonts: The font choice is very simple and readable, it sticks to the theme throughout, standing out in places where it is needed, for instance, bold for the sub-headings.
  3. Layout Structure: The structure is also clear and it is balanced, the photos on the left-hand page are detailed and are put on the page in a neat way so that the readers' eye doesn't wander.
  4. Colours: Black and white predominately used for these two pages of the magazine, the only splash of colour used are in the pictures, the use of yellow used to highlight important key facts.
  • This page is very minimalistic, but very organised. Small photographs are put against each numbered page to give the reader a snippet on what they have in store. The typography is kept the same, the only main two colours used are Black and White (dashes of colour in the photographs).
  • On the opposite page the font size is considerably lower, to which underneath the photo of the cover girl, a 'Standfirst' is used to give a brief introduction to the readers from the Editor.
